Which project types participate in the Pre-PIT?
Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Safe Haven, Interim Housing
What is the Pre-PIT?
An opportunity to practice your HMIS data entry and prepare!
The Point-in-Time Count sub-committee requires ES, TH, SH and IH projects to participate in the Pre-PIT to prepare for the official PIT, which occurs in late January.
How is the Pre-PIT administered?
ShelterPoint is used to count sheltered clients. All clients occupying a bed on 10/26 should be entered into a ShelterPoint bed on or before this date. Most projects can begin to prepare now!
How can my project prepare now?
Begin updating ShelterPoint as soon as possible to reflect clients that are expected to be occupying a bed on 10/26.
Entry assessment data will also be used to collect client demographic information, including: DOB, Race, Ethnicity, Veteran Status, and Gender.
We will review the HMIS data used for PIT Counts and training will be provided on ShelterPoint.
All Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Safe Haven and Interim Housing projects are expected to participate in the Pre-PIT occurring on Thursday, October 26th to prepare for the official PIT in January.
All trainings will cover the same material.
